My fiance booked a room at the new NYLO hotel for us for New Years Eve. We are big fans of Phillip Starks properties and were excited to have something comparable in the metroplex. He had requested a pool view room and we were in one overlooking the highway. The staff let us switch to the one across the hall. The view is still not good, but was better. We immediatley noticed that the loud club music from the bar downstairs could be heard quite distinctly in our room. I asked the manager if it would get any louder and he assured me it would not. We went to dinner and a bar and then came back to the hotel. The music was then so loud that we could not hear each other or watch TV over it. I called the front to ask to switch rooms again. After 3 phone calls I was told that the manager had checked all the available rooms and that the music could be heard even on the fifth floor. They offered us a $10 free breakfast to compensate. I told them that we would just check out and would not be paying for our stay. I was put on hold and then told that if we were out before midnight there would be no charge. Thankfully we live in downtown Dallas so we just drove home. Cute hotel, if you want to sleep in a club. Also, we were on their special ""Pure"" level that was supposed to be allergy free, but the exposed duct work in the halls was covered in very thick dust. Pros: Cute Decor Cons: Unable to sleep for loud music
