Review content:
I had accidentally injured one of our sweet cats. I had tried to personally snip off one of his mats. I intern cut him and caused a laceration that in a matter of hours was infected. I have been taking all of my cats to this clinic since I became a cat owner. I have not had any problems with prior treatments for my animals. The office staff in very personable and courteous. But on this occasion, the economic woes have taken over. My income is not as such as it used to be. I took my INJURED cat named ""Herbie"" to be treated. I explained my situation. I could either make my vehicle payment or have my cat treated. I opted the cat is family and more important. I explained my situation to the doctor/s, and told them how much money I had to my name, and asked to please treat ""Herbie"". Their response to me, remember, I have been taking ALL of my animals there for procedures and health care needs since I became a cat owner, was that they couldn't accept what I had in my pocket to treat what they called an ""EMERGENCY"" situation. I told them I would make up the difference when I received my next pay check. They stated that wasn't good enough and turned me out the door. The procedure would have cost $396 plus office visit of $42. I had $250 cash, and that was all the money I had to my name until pay day. They would have let my cat die, knowing the seriousness of the injury, infection had already set in and he had a fever. I wasn't looking for a hand out, I would have paid the difference. Knowing what I know now, I will NEVER take ANY of my animals to be seen or treated by this doctor ever again, who is only concerned about lining his pockets, not the care of the animals. Makes me wonder how he treats the animals when owners aren't there to watch their every move. I inturn, did find treatment for ""Herbie"" and his injury is being mended and infection taken care of. The cost is no where near the price Northside Animal Clinic quoted me, and if it was, they were willing to work with me. They are truly concerned about the animal, not the lining of the pockets. In a real emergency, pet owners don't ever consider where I took ""Herbie"" and that was the SPCA. When I mentioned I was taking ""Herbie"" to the SPCA, the clinic made reference to they would not take care of my animal properly. The SPCA can not exist on their reputation around the United States if this were to be true. I have full faith in the SPCA because they truly were concerned about treating my cat and not measuring me up for how much money I could pay. As I was in the waiting room with ""Herbie"", once I signed the paper work giving permission, the representative wisked ""Herbie"" away and were going to perform emergency surgery. My thanks to the SPCA and my condolences to the Northside Animal Clinic who would of let ""Herbie"" die. ps Mr Saylor you sr must have a rock for a heart and to all looking for a vet keep looking this is not a good man or vet Tony Sharp Pros: The way over charging not good care Cons: Saylor only thinks of money not your pet!!
