I'm a student at SUNY Cortland. Having to make the 200 mile trek home later on in the day, I struggled to find a place to get my oil changed since I was a a few hundred miles overdue. I want my 1992 Saab 900 with 260,000 miles to continue running as well as it has so I didn't want to forego getting it changed before a 400 mile round trip. No other place in the area had time to do the service before the end of the day. I was skeptical about getting service done anywhere because of all the scams you hear about and would much prefer to change it myself but didn't have the ability at school and didn't have time at home. I pulled into 10 min oil change and noticed the price for a change was really high. \r \r A very basic oil change ended up costing me 36.71 with tax. At first, I was pretty upset that I gave in to paying so much. Then I thought of all the pluses:\r You're in your car the whole time,\r They generally don't push other services,\r The wait time is minimal,\r They show you everything before and after they do it, They show you the new filter, your old filter, the old oil, and then they show you the dipstick w/ the clean oil when the service is over, and\r they top off all fluids and air pressure\r \r I once again am overdue for a change and its hard not to go back. Pros: Quick, knowing they aren't going to sell you random services you don't need, They show you everything before and after so you know you're not getting swindled Cons: price (Its not that bad)
