I love volunteering with Reading to Kids, and it's worth spending a Saturday morning getting up a little early and having a great time and making a huge impact on some really great kids lives. I love how flexible it is, since it's the second Saturday of every month, you can sign up for only the months it fits your schedule, everything is provided for you so you just have to show up once you have registered on the website (that has all the info you could ever need). The other volunteers are great, and over the years it's been a great organization to become more and more involved with! I saw the story on ABC7 and everyone should know you must be 18 or older to volunteer (family friendly is because while the kids are at the reading clubs, there is parent training going on at the same time too!) Pros: Flexibility, easy to volunteer, organized, fun
