Review content:
I really hate giving this place such a low rating, as I have been a frequent patron of it for my birthdays for many years. We dined here and upon making our reservation I told them of my special event. The receptionist never once asked if I had a birthday cake, of which I did and a very small one at that. We had 5 in our party and the server was quite hospitable. We were under the impression that she would sing happy birthday, but the restaurant did nothing (they usually do). The food was good as usual. But the real kicker came when we got the bill. Because of us bringing in this tiny little cake, we were charged a ""cake fee"" of $20.00. Had we been told this fee would be added, we would have left the **** thing at home. When I called the manager, he was quite rude and argumentative and stated that as long as he had been working there, this fee was in effect. He stated that had we fussed in the restaurant, he would have taken it off (my Mom brought it up to the waitress and I believe expressed her distaste but was ignored and told its company policy). The manager did give a compensation for a later date, but the damage was done and Birraporetti's managed to help ruin my birthday. They used to have 3 locations and now only have one. Fraudulent activities like this cake fee and making customers feel at fault for not disclosing they have a birthday cake are probably some of the factors in why the other 2 locations are no more.
Pros: Good food, atmosphere
Cons: DO NOT BRING CAKES!
