I have been going to this restaurant for years and have recommended it far and wide, however the last few times I've been in I have been gradually more and more disappointed. \r
Let me start by saying the menu selection is sensational, dozens of choices with some very unusual and some good old meat and potatoes. When I first started going the service was good, quick and courteous and the food excellent with ample portions. Over the my last few visits though while the food has stayed consistently excellent the service has just as consistently declined. On my last trip in our waitress was sour, there just isn't any other word for it, after telling us we could sit anywhere which is normal when it's not busy she walked up and just stood there waiting for us to start ordering. Our wait was not too long but for the first time ever we got something that was just not good and it was something that we had ordered before and which had been delicious. We had to flag the waitress down which would not be bad if it had been busy but there where only three other tables occupied at the time. After stating that the food was subpar we had to ask if we could get something instead rather her offering. The replacement order did take quite a while to come, everyone else at the table was done their food by the time it arrived and it was a simple dish. We received an insincere apology for the first order being bad after we again had to signal to the waitress for our check. \r
I want to say I don't expect when I go out to eat for the server to kill me with kindness or hover over the table but I do expect the standard of the establishment to be to employ people who at the very least pleasant and polite. That no longer seems to be the case here, the latest experience was the worse but it has been heading in this direction for some time with staff who act like it's a burden to be there, not a promising sign for a family diner. The two stars are for the food which is four star, the service is no stars.\r
Would I go again? Maybe after some time has passed in the hopes that it will improve. Will I recommend it anymore? No.
