After spending 2 nights at the Coral Sands motel in Ocean City NJ, I can honestly say I'm never going back. The sheets appeared to be unwashed as hair was found in them on the first night. The bathroom was dirty, the floor was unwashed with hairs all over it, the throw rug on the floor reeked or urine as it was in front of the toilet and has probably been splashed with urine over the years, and the stand up showers had hair all over the walls. The towels were also filthy with hair all over them and it makes me wonder when they were last cleaned.
The second problem I have is the outside walkway and the outdoor furniture. The walkway floor is filthy. It's covered in a cheap red carpet, that itself is covered with cigarettes, sand and burns. The furniture is dated, the chair covers are also filthy, covered in bird droppings, cigarette burns and sand. I could forgive the sand part as this is the shore, but the fact that the whole walkway and furniture on it appear to have never been washed or vacuumed is appalling.
The final problem I have is the two old people who run this place. They act like school teachers, yelling at everyone to wash the sand off of their feet with the provided hose before entering their rooms which I find absurd because the rooms are filthy anyway. They also seem to just hover around the outside of the motel monitoring everyone. I find them kind of creepy and very obtrusive. Every time I walked to and from my room I felt like I was being watched as the old lady just watches you as if she is waiting for you to do something. Sorry, but I'm 31 years old and I don't need a babysitter.
Yes, it is less than a block away from the beach, but I would have gladly taken a cleaner hotel 5 blocks away. Stay away from this dump at all costs.
