To be honest, throughout the whole wedding planning process there was nothing that I was less excited about than picking invitations. To me, it was just one of those things that I ""had to do"". \r \r I went to a few places that sat me down with a book and the workers really could not be more disinterested. \r \r I also tried some lady on the South Shore who while she seemed nice, didn't understand that my budget for the project wasn't $3000.00 and made me feel like that was a normal invitation budget, which I knew wasn't right. \r \r On a reccomendation from a work colleague I made an appointment to go to Plum Blossom (which is actually in New Dorp and not in Tottenville anymore like this map says). I sat down with one of the owners and they seemed to ""get me"" right from the start. They understood my concerns and while they do have some very extravagant custom invitations, they have a LOT of mid range invitations- and my whole project actually came in UNDER the budget that I had discussed with them (Roughly $1200 for 125 invitations). \r \r They got ME excited - they seemed very passionate about the project and listened carefully about what I wanted- I had a peacock theme and they actually designed something specifically for me - and had it done perfectly without charging me a fortune. \r \r All in all a great experience- and the best part was that they addressed all of my envelopes for me in a matching font- that saved me SO much time!
