Review content:
First trip to Trumpets was for last spring's Hamptons Restaurant Week. Food was pretty good so we have been back four more times since. Each time, the food and service have deteriorated to the point, that last night, it was terrible and disgraceful! Terrible because not a single dish that our party of 6 got was liked by anyone! Disgraceful because, after being told by our server one of the night's specials was a grilled veal chop, we were informed, after two of us attempted to order it, that they were not doing it after all. Instead, they were serving prime rib. One was ordered ""medium"" and, when it arrived, on the surface, it was blood red. Once cut, though, the meat was hard and well done! Scraping away some of the blood red ""camouflage"" it was clear they had concocted a coating to make the prime rib look medium when it really wasn't! You can discount a restaurant if its food is poorly prepared as just a bad, ""I'm not going back"" experience. But, when a place blatantly tries to defraud the patrons to cover up their crummy food, you just have to ""STAY AWAY!!!""
