Businiess name:  Peninsula Court Apartments

Review content:
There are many things wrong with this apartment complex that you can't see initially until you are living here for a bit. This complex has no on-site manager, there is no resident super. As well, the complex is not managed by a ""Peninsula Court"" management group. If you have a problem or an emergency, when you call the line to speak to someone, your call is put in to ""Duramax Concrete"". I can only assume that the same people who own this company also own our building and rather than have separate management or a staff devoted to the apartment complex, they try to just do things on their own. The building is cleaned once a week, if not once a month. So if someone leaves garbage in a hallway, or the garage - it usually stays there for about a week. Landscapers come once a season to cut the grass, but the garbage and debris from being on a busy street in the heart of Bayonne stays on the grass until they come. The majority of the building is either sublet or directly rented out to the young men and women of the Coast Guard through a program. They are lovely people; however this causes us to have new neighbors every few months as guard members are constantly being moved around. With exception of that, the building is very very lightly rented. Many units are empty and have been for more than six months (This is obvious as notices are left under doors for moths before anyone comes around to pick them up). When dealing with the rental manager (who has since left with no replacement) we were told that there were not many free apartment's open and if we wanted to live here we would need to act quickly in order to secure the apartment - after living here for a month, we quickly realize we were duped, the building is more than half empty. Resolving issues is painstaking. It's nearly impossible to receive a call back from a property manager, as well; issues go unresolved for weeks at a time without any attention. The management simply hopes you will forget, or just give up. The building has mice, clear as evidence of mouse traps are in every stairwell and the garage. The building also has trash chutes that are only cleaned once a week, typically on Sundays, which causes the halls to smell extremely pungent with garbage on Friday’s and Saturday’s before the are cleaned, yet full of rubbish. \r My recommendation to anyone looking to rent in this apartment complex is to keep looking. The apartments are of great size and in the heart of the town. But the management company, or lack-there-of I should say, really makes this building difficult to deal with. It really does appear as though someone wealthy just built this building in an attempt to collect rent checks each month, without putting forth any effort to improve the quality of life of those inside the building.\r
