This place was recommended by a friend who had been there for a private event. It was a Saturday night and we were going to The Standard downtown rooftop bar, so we decided to stop by. Turns out, this was like their unofficial quiet opening night or whatever. When we first got there we were happy to see they had valet parking. But when we got inside we were blown away. If you go there for any reason, go there to see what they have done with it. I have never seen a place like this in LA where the place looks like an actual piece of art. First there's the lounge in the fromt which has an amazing bar and two lounge areas. Then we were led through the patio which has lounge seating and tables outside. Then, we were led into the most amazing dining room. Being from New York, we were pleased to see the dining room was classical and well staffed. It is like being locked into another time period, with formal style and elegance being brought to a room of modrn urban professionals and foodies. I felt right at home.\r \r The wine list was very well balanced. We started with a bottle of Chardonnay. Jonathan, our waiter, was serious but friendly. We shared the mac n cheese and tuna tartare. It was amazing. I definitely enjoyed the New York steak and others in my party who had the filet, john dory, and short rib talked about it all night. \r \r After dinner we went back up to the lounge to see that it had become pretty active. This was a New York experience if I ever saw one. No one took themselves too seriously but here they seem to take food and service very seriously. Definitely a promising change! Pros: Design, Service, and amazing food, and Valet was free!
