Review content:
My child has been at Acorn Learning Academy since the beginning of the year. I have been most impressed with their commitment to giving my child the tools that he needs to succeed in Kindergarten. The curriculum is based on the Texas Education Agency?s Preschool Guidelines and the staff is creative. My son is proud to come home, tell us about what he learned at ?big kid school,? and show us the imaginative art projects that the teachers come up with for that day. The curriculum goes above and beyond what is required, for example each month the classes highlight a particular country and do projects to teach some basic facts about that country. In November the school even celebrated Diwali, an important holiday in India, with Indian food and presentations. The school also brought an African woman to give a presentation on the animals in Africa when that was the focus of the month. Diversity and tolerance are very important to the staff at Acorn, which is only a small part of the warm and compassionate way in which they care for all of the children. Since he began the preschool program in August, I can see how he is changing and growing both in academic skills and maturity. His teacher makes sure that students are ready with not only their ABC?s and 123?s but also the social skills necessary to thrive in Kindergarten. I would recommend Acorn to any parent looking to give their child an enjoyable early academic experience.
