Review content:
I was looking for a way in which I could heal my body as well as feel emotionally and mentally balanced, and spiritually connected. I saw a Dahn Yoga brochure at the acupuncture clinic I was going to for relief of menopause, depression, and digestive problems. These symptoms were aggravated by stress at work and my inability to effectively manage the stress in my life. Rarely did I smile.\r \r After review of the brochure, I immediately called the San Mateo Dahn Yoga Center for an appointment. The headmaster’s voice on the phone was so calm that I was motivated to attend an introductory session that day to find out more about the classes. When I walked into the center and was greeted with a warm smile, I knew this is where I wanted to be. \r \r The introductory session provided an assessment of my current flexibility, balance, body alignment along with explaining the main health principle based on oriental medicine. The personal attention and overview of the class format of simple stretching exercises, breathing methods, and meditations was exactly what I was looking for. \r \r I began attending the 6:00pm evening class right after work 3-4 days a week. An 8:00pm class is also offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for those who may work late hours, attend late night classes, or simply feel motivated to exercise before bedtime. \r \r After 3 years, I can honestly say that I have gone through menopause without any medication, my depression has lifted, and digestive problems are no longer an issue. When I feel stressed, I exhale a lot and do gentle stretches to relax my body. \r \r The regular class is a great way to become more sensitive to the mind-body connection and for more in-depth training weekend workshops are offered. Dahn Yoga is the first step in a 5 step program called Brain Education System Training (BEST). I highly recommend Dahn Yoga to anyone who wants to be healthier, happier, and more peaceful. This program is the best. \r
