Cafe Gelato is the premier restaurant in Newark, DE. Lunch menu offers bargain prices for top-quality panini sandwiches and creative, wholesome salads. Top picks at any meal time are risotto and homemade daily ravioli specials. Dinner offers a romantic, classy atmosphere without being too stuffy. Meats and fish dishes are usually done to perfection and include ample herbs and flavorful sides. Pasta dishes are always a favorite, although some have been slightly lacking in seasonings. (Ask for ground pepper and grated cheese to spice it up if this is the case). The best meal we've had here was one of their famous wine dinners, featuring a fixed menu paired with a different wine or champagne at each course. Even if you can't make it for a meal, you must stop for a scoop or two of the gelato. With less fat and less air than American style ice cream, it's a creamy European delight. Try the chocolate-hazelnut and the wildberry, our favorite flavors.\r
Cafe Gelato has pleased both our sets of parents; one set is used to Ponderosa and the Olive Garden, and the other has dined in the best restaurants in New York, the Caribbean and London. Cafe Gelato will make anyone happy!!!
