I've been going to Suze's studio for 7 years. When I started, I was looking for a way to deal with chronic pain from a twisted rib cage, a result of a long-ago car accident. Over the years, I've watched my rib cage turn back to a more normal structure, and I have realized there's no other form of exercise that would have been able to alter the entire torso of my body like that.\r \r Yoga provides strength, flexibility and balance -- while I've been active my whole life, I've never gotten all 3 of these from any other one type of physical activity. While I originally started yoga for one particular reason, it's brought many more benefits to my life, as well. It calms my mind, makes me more aware of the choices I make in my daily life, increased my breathing capacity and opens my heart, and more recently I've found myself venturing into the meditation and pranayama (breathing) practices. I've ""shopped around"" and tried many styles, studios, and teachers in Dallas and, although there are some wonderful offerings all around, I come back to Suze's because it fits me. It's a style I enjoy, and I appreciate that the class times are daily, regular, and start on time. It's easy to get in and out of parking and the studio, and she continues to make it affordable even in these tough economic times.\r \r Suze is full of love, light, and laughter, and it flows down through her teachers, and into all the classes, whether she is present or not. Her voice is always in the room and it has talked me through many classes where sometimes life was so challenging that I felt I spent half the class in child's pose. No matter where life leads me, I will always hold her in my heart as one of my Personal Buddhas.\r \r When people look at a yoga pose on the front of a magazine and say, ""Oh, I can't do that, so I can't do yoga,"" I tell them, ""You don't DO yoga... yoga does you."" A person who can only bend forward two inches is getting the same benefits as a person who can touch their forehead to their shins. And I tell them... ""And,you know, if you find you can't do THAT particular pose, don't worry... you'll learn to do some other really cool stuff.""\r \r :-)\r \r Yoga will meet you where you are.\r
