This place is terrible! My husband and I have only been here for 2.5 months, but we are already planning to move out this month. First of all, we were told we could not move in for a week because the carpet needed to be shampoo'd and the apartment cleaned. When we arrived to move in, the carpet was covered in dog hair, smelled like wet dog and urine, and most things were fairly dirty. The walls are paper-thin, I can hear the downstairs neighbor clanking around in the kitchen. The floor creaks loudly throughout the apartment, for as little as my cat walking across it. The deck is wooden, rickety, and slanted, as are the stairs and walkway. Many things were broken -- there was a hole punched in the back of a closet door, a light switch in a bathroom that had to be smacked to turn the light on, broken blinds on the windows, one of which fell on my head when i tried to pull the cord, and various other unacceptable damage that I am sure we will be blamed for when we move. The ceiling had some water damage and looks as though it is getting worse and will fall down soon. Maintenance is shoddy, impolite and 'slow' at best -- they refused to fix most of the many, many issues we had with the apartment, including the now-blindless windows, stating ""we don't provide blinds."" I have lived many places, some that might be called slums, and I've never experienced an apartment that did not provide some kind of window covering. The landlady, Veoletta, is a temperamental, nagging harpy. When the downstairs neighbor started complaining about the 'noise' we make to the landlady, we told Veoletta that we can hear quite a bit of the noise from downstairs as well. She told us with great contempt she did not believe us, and that we were just trying to ""get back at"" the woman downstairs for making complaints. Veoletta informed me that bass-playing (as I am a musician) is ""too loud for an apartment"" and forbade me to play in my own apartment. She is arrogant, rude and condescending; i can only compare her to a slumlord. Not to mention, next to us is a church, where people in the parking lot get VERY loud and rowdy at night sometimes, and they recently held an extremely loud Jesus-oriented music festival in the parking lot -- essentially my back yard. Jesus is one thing, loud bad music i can't block out because it's so hot without a/c that i have to keep the doors open and hear the horrid noise all day long is another, especially when I've been told my bass guitar is ""forbidden."" NEVER AGAIN will i move into an apartment without first looking through the finished, cleaned and repaired place beforehand, and actually LISTENING to the reviews of the place online. If i had paid attention, i would have figured out within a few reviews that this is an awful place to live. Pros: Location. If you like loud Jesus-Fest music in your yard. Cons: Rude management, bad maintenance, apt. damage, etc
