Review content:
My husband is a type 1 diabetic with dementia and was admitted to the Norman Veterans Center on March 5, 2012. During his 3 day stay, staff indicates he alledgely threw chairs at staff members and put his hands around a nurse's throat which has never taken place during the 2 years that I've been his caregiver. When transported back to the VA in OKC, we have never had any problems or concerns with him being violent. Staff can never give me a straight forward answer nor will his doctor's in Norman contact me to discuss what they say my husband alledgely did. On April 3, 2012, my husband was transported back to the Norman Vet Center and this time even after I spent the evening with him on April 4, staff claims that he put a wire clothes hanger to the throat of another staff member which I believe is a downright out lie. My husband was fine when I was there and fine when I spoke with him later that evening to say goodnight. I feel these people are claiming things that does not support my husband's actions during his stay in OKC nor does it support his actions during the period of 2years when I was taking care of him on my own. I believe staff just doesn't want my husband at this center nor do they want to do the job they accepted. To hell with Norman Veterans Center and their staff because if they don't want my husband there then neither do I for concerns that they may mistreat him. This is not a good place to ensure your family's health issues to as it is apparent their staff really doesn't have the experience nor qualifications to handle these kinds of patients. Be aware!!!!!!!!!!
