I have known Mary Alice Cowan for over 20 years. I babysat her kids, was a friend for years, and then she became my gynecologist when my insurance carrier finally included her. As you might imagine, I felt just a tad squeamish knowing her for so long and then having her as my gyno. Well, I had nothing to worry about. She was SO PROFESSIONAL and SO CARING that she put me right at ease. She spends as much time with you as you need to feel comfortable and secure and she is the most compassionate, caring physician I have ever known. I have recommended her to my friends and they have thanked me profusely for it. She has even called me at home to check on my progress to see how I was feeling, and sat with me when I was in the hospital. She consistently goes above and beyond her required responsibilities to the patient making her the best , most quality physician anyone could ever hope to have. A fun sideline: when you lie back on the examination table, there is a poster of a smiling George Clooney and other ""hunks"" to enjoy while you are waiting!
