Recently found out that my credit score tanked from an insanely high number to a sadly low figure. Why? Because the government of DC (of which I am a taxpaying resident) turned over its ticket collections to Professional Account Management Incorporated out of Wisconsin (the state, that is). But I am not alone. seems that at least 14 others (and I am sure way more) were destroyed by this company in the last week (after 18 December) and all have the same story: DC did not tell them of the ticket in any way; and the collection company sent no warning; so out of the blue when checking credit scores, a citizen is alerted to the fact that he had an unpaid ticket. Oh - and your credit is no longer good. This is unreal. It is painful enough that I purchased a house in a high tax area riven with crime- and now I have to live with a destroyed credit rating to boot? DC is totally alienating their tax paying citizens by their negligent practices. Not the way to treat their tax base. Cons: illegal
