On a lazy Wednesday we came here at 6:30 (they close at 7pm) to get something simple. In passing, it's a cute and simple restaurant front. Inside definitely feels a little like a college-handout which explains its location across the street from San Jose State University. With a short but reasonable menu, you'll find kabobs, empanadas and sandwiches among a few others. For $7 you can get two kabobs (opted for one chicken and one ground beef) with rice or mashed potatoes and diced veggie side salad. One of my choices of sauces was the pomegranate sauce which was lightly sweet and a great accompaniment with the meats. At that price, you get plenty of food. I was just full. They also have a dessert display counter with various pastries and cookies which I skipped (until next time). Most of the clientele were definitely students, typing on laptops or reading books. They close a bit early, especially considering who they cater to, but since they're open early for breakfast, I guess they deserve a break to go home. However they were patient when we left quarter after 7. I'll definitely go back for another casual bite.
