Review content:
Just average sushi. I'm a recent transplant from the Bay Area and Taka's is just average compared to some of the great sushi places in SF, Berkeley and Alameda. They had no amaebi! This is the first sushi place that I've been to that didn't have it. I was able to get one mediocre order of hamachi toro before they ran out at 6:30p on a Saturday night. Not a good sign. Had to constantly ask the sushi chef to refill the gari and wasabi for us. No hot towels when you sit down. Sushi chefs are not very professional. In fact, one was talking with an obvious regular at the bar and using profanity in front of my young son. If this is one of the best in Sac, then I've moved to a gastronomic dead zone.
Pros: good sushi rolls
Cons: Service, Sushi Selection, Too Trendy
