Review content:
The sales folks were very nice and informative. However, when the guys came to install our carpet, they were very unprofessional in many ways.
1) we were told it was a one day job, however they worked from Friday 9AM till Saturday 1AM. To me, a one day job means that it should have ended at 7PM at the latest...like normal business hours.
2) they started rushing at the end and did a poor job of installing around our bannister and stairs. example 1: not tucking in the carpet. example 2: not making sure the glue adhered to the wall near the stairwell
3) they did not treat the carpet in a sanitary way. As a courtesy and gesture of good will, we bought food and provided drinks for the installers. However, after eating greasy pizza with their hands, they started installing carpet again without washing their hands.
4) they caused damage. after spending money to redo our bannister and having it re-painted and finished, we found chips, scratches and stains all around the bannister and nearby walls (which we had repainted as well).
5) they left a mess. when pulling out the original carpet (upstairs), they threw the nail tacks all over our first floor (which we were not replacing). I had to remind them that the carpet downstairs was remaining ..... at this point, i don't know if I feel comfortable walking downstairs barefoot. In addition, when the removed the old materials, they left a mess with debris all over our driveway as well as our lawn.
RESPONSE FROM Belmont Carpets Woodfloor-Tile:
We were unaware that the stairs were remodeled after the initial estimate. This resulted in a much more time consuing job that would usually be at a significantly higher price and more time would have been scheduled. The paintwork was paid by us and the installer went back to repair the imperfections.
