Review content:
Hamburger Mary's on 17th and J in downtown Sacramento is great for its location and decor. So not pretentious. Food is average, if not below average, but the prices can be reasonable. The service was extremely on the ball, but at times the restaurants noise made it difficult for us to hear our waitress and likewise for her to her us. She did get my order wrong, but I don't consider it her fault. I went there with my family for Father's Day. My relatively old parents felt young and hip to be there, while my late-teenage nephews felt the place was cool. It is rare that a restaurant can bridge such a large generation gap. And afterwords, we all went to The Beat Records across the street and shopped for all the different variety of music that we like.
Pros: location, atmosphere, great service
Cons: at times the noise, some uncomfortable seats
