Review content:
If I was basing this review solely on the food, it would be 5 stars easily. However, sadly the service is so poor here that I can't help but voice my opinion on this. Food: Amazing. 'Nuff said. If my review was based solely on this, it'd be 5 stars. Atmosphere: The bar area where I eat every time I come here has music WAY too loud where everyone else in the room has to talk over it. That and the acoustics in there are HORRIBLE. But not taking off any stars for this. Service: I've eaten here 4 times and each time the service has gotten worse and worse. I've seen my beer sitting up waiting for the waitress to pick it up & I've been neglected at the bar for so long that I want to reach around and pour myself another one and just tell the bartender. However, today's service took the cake. First, our waitress walks up REEKING of cigarettes and talking like she's extremely hung over, mumbling her words and speaking so softly we had to ask her to repeat everything she said. We put in our order of beers, shrimp pasta bowls, and some appetizers. Our waitress was so busy putting the happy hour cards on tables that our appetizers came out before our first round of drinks. As she's putting down my beer, she spills it on the chair next to me, all over my sweatshirt I put down there. No apology, no napkins, nothing from her. Good. Our food comes, and I ask the waitress to switch one of the TVs to the UCLA football game. She says she'll get right on it. We eat, she comes back about 3 times and asks how the food is and how we're doing, but nothing on switching the game over. She then starts putting candles on every table, including ours while we're eating. We finish, the bus boys clear our table, and we wait. 10 minutes go by, she doesn't come back. 15 minutes go by, she finally comes back. I hand her my credit card to expedite the process. Boy was I wrong. It took her TEN minutes to go back, run my card, and give me my receipt. Honestly, you have to try hard to suck this bad at being a waitress. It's sad that eating at Killer Shrimp is such an ordeal because I love the food here. If they ever decide to step up their service game, this would be a great restaurant. Until then, I'll only eat here when I know I have an extra hour to waste dealing with the wait staff.
