I have frequented Beads of Contentment (BoC) since 1994 and have always been satisfied with my visits. A bead store, BoC has loose beads for sale, from simple seed beads to intricately painted or carved choices. Additionally, there is a crafting space with tools available for use so that browsers can create their own jewelry in the store, with the expert help of the employees. For less than $10, you can create the exact necklace or bracelet or earrings that you want. You have the pride of creating your own jewlery and the assistance needed to do so. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they teach classes for specific designs and creations. It is located in downtown Modesto and I highly recommend you give it a try. Even an inexperienced beader can be successful at creating jewelry. It's fun, reasonably priced and a lovely, warm environment.
Pros: great staff, good bead selection, fun and relaxed atmosphere
Cons: shorter hours than ideal, parking around the block
