I went into Kmart today because I saw a microwave online that your store carried that I wanted. When I got to the store the one I wanted was on the top shelf. I tried getting assistance from one associate when I told her I was wanting information about a microwave the first thing she says is well I do not have a price scanner so I can?t tell you anything about the pricing or check to see if we have any in the store. I told her that I was just wandering where the actual boxes were because I could not find them. After she rudely told me that what I see is what I get she walked away. So I started looking for an associate that would actually want to help me. I walked all the way to electronics to have them call someone that could get a microwave down off the top shelf for me, after 10 minutes someone came walking over to the microwaves asking if I needed help. I told her want I wanted and she tried to use a regular household step ladder to get it down but it was too high and too heavy for her. So she called for an associate with a ladder to help and that the customer was waiting. After about 15 minutes the second lady poked her head around the corner and said ?they still haven?t came?? I said nope. So she had them page for help again. After about 15 more minutes I got tired of waiting and went to customer service and asked for a store MGR. She came and I told her what happened. She offered to get the microwave for me at that time. I asked her, why was it so hard to get help to get something off the top shelf? Her response was that they were understaffed and that people had called in and that they needed to hire more people. So, after 40 minutes of waiting for help to get a box down from the top shelf her excuse is they Kmart needs to hire more people! REALLY! I know I saw several people stocking shelves; they couldn?t stop to get a ladder and help me? I really wanted to walk out of there and buy a microwave somewhere else, but I didn?t, I bought that one there. At the register I asked the cashier (who was actually very nice), if they had a military discount and she says no we don?t but I wished they did for you guys. After all that time and I can?t even get a military discount! WOW! I am still upset about the rudeness and lack of professionalism and the poor poor customer service that I am considering returning it and giving Wal-mart or Home Depot my money instead. I sure hope that they can use this letter to maybe train other associates that customers are what keep the stores open. If you?re rude and inattentive to customers, they shop elsewhere. I am so disappointed in Lawton OK Kmart.
