Review content:
As a current employee of The Woods at Parkside I feel the need to respond to the comments of OSCARDELA. The one sided review of this review is incorrect and the opinion of a client that has come in with a less than positive attitude.
Did we wake her at 4:30 am? Yes. All assessments for detox clients are performed every 6 hours, regardless of the time that clients are admitted. This is not only for their own safety but also the times that they are given their detox medication. Did she have to see the doctor at 7:00 am? Yes. The doctor is there every morning and sees every detox patient every day to asses their health. As far as the employees being ""very rude and very ghetto"", and all hired from the east side of Columbus, I find that offensive. First of all, to generalize the east side is ignorant. The employees are from all walks of life as are the clients. One of our purposes is to create structure in the lives of people that have otherwise lived in chaos for years. I can tell you that every employee in that building cares greatly for the clients or we would not be there. Alot of us are addicts and we have empathy for those who are suffering and trying to make their lives better. Ants and roaches? I have never heard that complaint. Holes in the floors and walls? I would need to see the area she is referring to as I have never seen them. I cannot speak for the cost as that is not part of my job description. I can say that I was willing to pay any amount of money to save my life. We have snacks available for all clients 24 hours a day as well as 3 balanced meals. A vending machine with snacks does not even exist. I have never seen or heard of a complaint regarding an employee addressing a client is any manner other that professional. Any and all ""questionable"" behavior that clients find inappropriate has been addressed by the highers up. We have practices in place to avoid any such activity.
Is Parkside perfect? Of course not. But, we are all there for one reason and that is to save lives. We cannot please everyone but for those who truly want to get well, Parkside is a wonderful institution. I should know, I was a client in 2007 and I am still ""clean"" today.
