They have a buy one get one free on Wed. Every Wed a ton of us from my office go there for lunch. This week there were 9 of us, our office is right down the side walk. I told the waiter before I ordered that I was the odd man out, that there was an odd number of us today. I went there confident that our volume of business and frequency of patronage would be adequate to allow me to take advantage of the Wed lunch special. I was mistaken. Although the waiter told me, with many witness listening, that I would receive the lunch special price, when he brought me the ticket it was for full price. When I explained the situation to the Hostess, Rosie, she informed me that I could not receive the special price and would have to pay the full price. I explained that rather than going somewhere else for lunch, I came with everyone else being sure they would allow me to participate as if I had another person with me. She said I had to pay the full amount or she would call the police. I told her I would pay the full amount but I wanted the second meal to go. She said that the special was not for 'to-go' orders and she could not do that. So I told her the waiter must not have understood what I said as his English is not very good, but I was not paying the full amount for the meal. She called the police. When the officer arrived he asked some questions of Rosie and myself and was about to question the waiter but one of my co-workers paid the bill while I was outside.
