Review content:
Can't rate the foold, becuase we couldn't get served - a horrible customer experience. My wife and I travel US2 (to/from the Chelan area) on average three out of four weekends a month. We don't always stop, but when we do it is generally to get something to eat (usually around dinner time). We've stopped in the Sultan Bakery before and was impressed with the sandwiches. So, this past Sunday we left Chelan late enough that we knew we would probably want to stop somewhere to eat dinner on the way home. As it turns out we decided to stop at the Sultan Bakery. It was just past 7:00pm and we were famished and looking forward to one of their home cooked meals. After ordering our food we settled in at a table and waited, ...and waited, ...and waited. After a while we noticed that virtually everyone that was in line with us as well as those who came in after us was being served. I kept making eye contact with the hostess as she brought out food for other patrons thinking she knew we were there and would certainly be checking on us or with the Kitchen. Finally, after 40 minutes and after the couple next to us was served their food (and who came in at least 15 minutes after us) I asked the young man who was serving them if our order was on its way. His response was ""sorry, but it is just me and one other person in the kitchen"" and walked away. In the meantime the hostess is walking around chit chatting with the other patrons, serving meals and basically ignoring us. After a few more minutes, my wife and I got up, walked over to the cash register and asked for our money back. She smiled at us and said; ""Oh, did they not serve you yet?"" I said; ""no, and we can not wait any longer"". She said; ""Ok, sorry about that"", opened the cash register and handed me the exact cash amount that I paid (obviously knowing what we had ordered) and nothing further was said.
By this time it was nearing 8:00pm, we were hungry and tired and felt very unwelcomed. In fact, we were both quite upset about the whole affair. I can't remember the last time we were treated so shabbily by any establishment we have patronaged. I can't imagine what the problem was that the hostess had with us, other than maybe the fact that we were probably the only non-locals in there at the time (at least I presume that because the hostess seemed to know everyone else by name). At any rate, the experience was so bad and upsetting I doubt we will ever step foot in the Sultan Bakery again.
