In February of this year, my wife and I relocated from San Diego to Kauai in a long-planned move. After a somewhat lengthy full-service mover search, including both large national firms and smaller regional ones, we selected Dewitt Companies for our move. Our search interaction yielded Dewitt as the most knowledgeable and personal, with a move cost below the others and our decision was made. Move day arrived quickly, and in a word, be ready. The Dewitt packing crew (2 men) arrived and the amount of work they accomplished in 2 days was truly amazing. Anything you don?t want, get out of the house before they arrive, otherwise don?t be surprised if it shows up in Hawaii! Being a woodworker and making nearly all the furniture in the house, we generally moved only items I made. Given the scope of the move, we expected to find various dings, scuffs and bumps on our furniture upon arrival. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The San Diego crew used an amazing amount of packing material ? which totally protected each piece, and we are extremely happy to say everything arrived completely unblemished but for one item. One piece of glass in a leaded-glass panel I made broke sometime during transit. Now Dewitt had no obligation regarding this broken glass given the insurance we selected, but they voluntarily offered to pay to repair the broken panel! In short, we are completely thrilled with the service we received and the move results. My wife and both feel as though our expectations were completely exceeded, and if we ever move back to the mainland, there will be only one phone call to make. If you are moving to or from Hawaii, we strongly recommend Dewitt Companies .
