Review content:
Been to the Lucille's in rancho since it opened with Victoria Gardens. I have NEVER been disappointed. The only con I can find to this place is that it's so good and popular that it's always busy. But don't fret, it's never as long as they tell you it's gonna be (longest I was ever told was 45 minutes and that was yesterday, 1/1/07 at 6pm and I was seated in about 25-30). The portions are HUGE. My entire family consists of big eaters and we always leave with leftovers. The tri-tip is very good, the pulled pork is awesome (ask for it without the red sauce and add your own BBQ sauce at the table. The chicken is sweet moist and tender with all the flavors you'd expect from BBQ. But on to the main item, RIBS RIBS RIBS! You chosse from baby back, beef, or St. Louis. The beef ribs are very good but I just hate to pay for equal parts of bone and meat but then again anywhere else that has beef ribs has about 85% bone and maybe a little beef so that's a big plus. The baby back ribs are excellent, meaty and moist throughout. But my favorite is the St. Louis style. Man oh man....practically all meat!!!!!!! You sometimes worry that you're gonna eat bone because you're sure there HAS to be one in there. You'll find it eventually but just dig into that meat with all you got. Never a disappointment!!! The sides are excellent as well depending on your tastes. I love the garlic mashed potatoes (EVERYONE does), the baked beans are great (some people say they be a pinch too sweet but thats how I like em), the peanut slaw is GREEEAT if you're into slaw (has a little extra vinegar kick to it so be ready...it's really good though), mac and cheese is OK (great for kids). They also offer baked potatoes, shoestring fries, potato salad, and fire roasted corn on the cob. Excellent appetizers (my faves are the Dixie eggrolls, jalapeno poppers, and you gotta try the Tri-Tip Quesadilla). Great bar selection! Have fun!!! Service can be slow during busy times but usually excellent.
