Review content:
I had been hearing great things about this place for years, and last week I finally made the trip out with a couple of friends. And all I can say is, wow, it was easily worth the drive. The Food: Calamity Jane's has some of the best tasting burgers around, and with a pretty extensive menu, they've got every kind of burger you can think of ranging from mundane to ""why would they even make that?"" - so regardless of your taste, there will be something to suit you. and I can attest to the fact that the marshmallow and hot fudge burger is actually quite good. Their milkshakes are also fantastic, and quite large. The Atmosphere: The restaurant has a western sort of theme, and while the theme has been done to death, Calamity Jane's did a good job at at least making it look good. There is nothing fancy about the place, they don't try to win you over with a ton of decorations, it just feels like home. Service: The one time I went was on a Tuesday night, and it was fairly early in the evening, so we basically had the whole place to ourselves. Looking back, I think we were only three other occupied tables. Regardless, our waitress was quite friendly, and service was quick. My one gripe about Calamity's is that it's kind of a long drive from home. If you live in the Sandy area, it's going to be right down the street, but I, like most people in Oregon live in the Portland area. If my memory serves me right, the drive was about 40 minutes one way. But in spite of the long drive, I am definitely glad I made the trip out, and I'm already thinking about going back. In short, if you like a good hamburger, you'll love Calamity Janes Pros: great food, good atosphere, friendly staff Cons: a bit of a drive
