Review content:
I called Jim to have a small job -- an electrical panel upgrade -- done in my apartment. He quoted me $800 ahead of time which he and I both agreed would be the price. The work took him one day. It was a small panel with eight breakers. At the end of the job, when the work was done, he said it would be $900 and he complained and tried to make up an excuse that the circuit breakers cost him an extra $100. He also mentioned that he knew I went to an Ivy League school (creepy) and that I should pay.
Be careful. If this guy sees a way to screw you out of more money (even a little), he'll do it. The breakers he was talking about cost no more than $25 and were included in the original $800 quote.
The actual workmanship was fair. He left a big gap around my panel and now I have to find a finish carpenter to put in molding. A more careful cut or use of a flush mounted panel wouldn't have required this.
