Review content:
Long story short, Ethan Allen promised me something that they couldn't deliver. Had they done research prior to taking my money, this would have been discovered much sooner. The problem was not discovered until 2 months after having ordered the piece.
The store owner promised to pick up the piece and give me a complete refund, but has not called me to make arrangements. Today I received a letter from his attorney stating that he would take ""no further action"" with regards to my complaint.
I am very disappointed that this could not be resolved amicably and that the store owner has decided to go back on his promise of a refund. To date, I have made 4 phone calls to the Ethan Allen corporate office in an attempt to resolve this.
I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Vermont Attorney General's office. I have also disputed the charge with my credit card company.
What upsets me most of all is that I felt good shopping at Ethan Allen as it is a Vermont company and I wanted to shop local.
Be aware that if you shop at this Ethan Allen location, you are taking a big risk. If everything runs smoothly, then you'll most likely be happy. But if something goes wrong, don't expect responsible customer service in response.
From their website: ""Entrepreneurial: We take full responsibility. We grow the business. We meet the challenges. We provide exceptional service. We do not pass the buck. We are forward-thinking. We make it work.""
Don't count on it.
