I've been to pricey vets, but was annoyed that it ended up being such an ordeal for my kitties - waiting in the reception area, waiting in the exam room, having my healthy cats poked, prodded, squeezed and weighed, guilt trips about how much they weigh (even though neither is fat)...and then a huge charge and mark-up on any immunizations, etc. I wanted a vet where the process would be as quick and easy as possible - and that's what Dr. Kunnen's clinic is all about. He only does work on healthy animals, and only spays/neuters and vaccinates. My cats are young and healthy, so that's all they really need. He recently spayed my kitten, and I was very pleased. Dr. Kunnen first examines the animal & gives a sedative and any immunizations needed on a vet table in the main office. He religiously wipes the table down with disinfectant between each animal. The animal is then taken into the back for the procedure. You pay & pick up the animal the next morning. I spent all of 15 minutes dropping her off, and 10 minutes picking her up. Since Dr. Kunnen has performed something like 15,000 spay/neuter procedures, I felt confident that she would be in good hands. The Dr. is very nice and friendly, as is the assistant.
Pros: Very experienced vet, fast, inexpensive, minimal stress on my kitties
Cons: Doesn't take sick animals, no-frills - might be a con for some, cash only on first visit
