My brother told me to never go to a place that has a lot of associates working because it actually reduces the quality of patient care. Go to a place that only has one doctor working because that one doctor would be more careful with their patient. Let me explain, my horrible experience Vision City. I have gone to Vision City on several visits because I liked Dann Martin, he seemed somewhat well-informed. Well, during my trip abroad, I had a terrible eye infection, and came back wanting to see Dr. Martin. He wasn't there, but he was in his OTHER office, so I saw one of his associates. Before my trip abroad, I had already seen this associate, so I trusted him; however, he had already misinformed me. Firstly, I have weak vision, yet I lead a very active lifestyle (running, climbing, etc), so hard contacts are very inconvenient for me. He told me that I can wear both soft and the non permeable gas contacts, in which I would wear soft contacts when I do sports (okay, I will get back to this part). Secondly, when I came back to see him for my eye infection, he could not find anything wrong. About a week later after the visit, I started to get sharp needle like pain and my posterior vitreous fluid deattached because I started seeing black lines. I decided to go back to my long time eye doctor. She found white infiltrates (white blood cells that indicate infection) in my both my corneas, and also informed me that near sighted patients typically should not interchange from both soft and hard because it would affect the shape of the cornea. Now, here are two huge cases when this associate misinformed me, and as a medical student standing in a patient's shoes, patients are the most vulnerable people and have the right to be well-informed and carefully examined. Thirdly (to which I did not find out until a year and a half later), when I went to vision city to get new lenses, the lenses itself was $700!!!!! (At that time, I didn't complain because I knew it was because of my horrible vision) A year and a half later, after switching optometrist, this doctor only charged $200 for my lenses (including: made as thin as possible + Anti reflective glare coating) and gave me 20% discount because I was their patient. Thus, from vision city, I paid for BOTH soft and hard contact lenses (even though medically, I should only stick to one), paid for over price lenses, and paid for a visit for lack of a proper diagnosis.
Patients, go to a doctor that will take the time to inform you with the RIGHT facts and does not rip you off.
