I moved to the Tampa Bay area about 16 years ago. It took close to 3 years to find Mikel through a friend at work. I have natural curly hair and have had hair stylists butcher my curls . . . not a pretty look. At the time Mikel had the most gorgeous, long curly hair. He had a part-time receptionist and I thought, he's got to know what he's doing. From the first cut, my hair bounced in to shape. After about 5 years of getting a shape up 3 times a year, I was starting show those dreaded gray hairs and asked Mikel for a suggestion. I didn't want it to look fake, which Mikel thought was funny. When he was finished, you couldn't tell I had strategically placed highlights to cover the gray. Needless to say, I started visiting much more frequently. About 4 years ago, I had a mid-life crises and saw Mikel and Team every 4 weeks to change up the color - red from brown, add extensions - just because, and cut - long to short to sideways! I had a ton of fun, however, my husband was terrified I was going to come home bald.
