I was referred to this nursery as a butterfly friendly nursery. Before visiting I sent an email to make sure their milkweed plants did not have pesticides on them. This is vital as milkweed is the only food source for monarch caterpillars, which I was raising. I was assured by the owner in writing that their nursery did not use pesticides. Long story short, their plants killed my monarch butterfly caterpillars. I bought their plants after using up my store of plants purchased at a Myakka City nursery. After eating the plants from Accent, the caterpillars started to die. I contacted the owner of the business to let her know my caterpillars died and she did not care or stand behind the merchandise she sells. She got nasty and her final email told me to ""go to he*l in a hand basket"". A real class act on top of selling bad merchandise. The whole point of spending more on plants at independent nurseries is to know what you are buying. Big box stores like Lowe's or Home Depot sell the same plants for less, but you can bet they have lots of pesticides on them. If you want to grow caterpillars and butterflies you need pesticide free plants. This nursery bills itself as a butterfly nursery and they are not. Do not waste your money.
