Okay, first of all...I'm very picky about quality, authenticity, and the magic that occurs with homemade food crafted with love, at La Fonda...it's all there and now it's in my belly!! You wouldn't expect this fabulous place in the corner of a little mexican strip mall but it's there and it's huge,, the interior is like dining inside an aztec pyramid, the margaritas are the size of a goldfish bowl, and the portions are enough to fill you up for two days, but you'll finish it all anyway, it's that good. There is a lot to choose from on the menu but I recommend the traditional dishes of grilled meat, veggies and cactus which comes out in a sizzling stone bowl it's a flavor explosion with rice and beans and tortillas. I also tried a chile rellano which I always try when i see it on the menu and I have tried many....La Fonda wins first prize they have hands down the best chlie rellano, its' light batter and sauce is the key that unlocked my heart. I""m also a birria fan which is on the menu, a rareity, so I had to have it, spicy slow roasted goat meat in a very special sauce, it tasted like love, I had to have it all. there were no leftovers, short of licking the plates clean. The service is phenomenal, and if I could have I would have just moved in and made our booth my new home. I want to try their mole next time I go...I have a feeling it will be awesome! get over there and enjoy! and if you leave there unsatisfied in anyway then there is no pleasing you.
