Review content:
I sampled two other martial arts dojos before coming to Impact. I wanted to learn Muay Thai, not just for fitness, but because I wanted to learn the real techniques in a traditional setting. After already trying out a ""fitness kickboxing class"" for three months, I realized that most ""kickboxing"" classes were nothing more than aerobics with a bag added, taught by practitioners of other arts/fighting skills, simply to bring in revenue and new clients.
Then I found Impact Martial Arts and it's been love ever since. I have never felt intimidated, even when sparring. It's always been an atmosphere of training, motivation, learning, and above all, respect. I look forward to classes, knowing that I'm learning Muay Thai kickboxing and not just playing at it as a part of a fitness regimen. Although I will say that the fitness most certainly occurs--it's just thrown in between hook combos. It's also nice that the instructors want to see me improve and are not showing off or ""knuckleheads"" as can occur way too often in the MMA world. Oh, and I've made lots of friends and we go for smoothies afterward. Who wouldn't love that?
Pros: friendly, traditional, technique-centered
Cons: no dressing room, contract required
