I have had a lot of friends use Dougs, they have been recommended by several people to me over the years and I have personally even taken my boyfriends truck there with NO issues and great prices, so naturally when I needed a muffler I went to Dougs too even though it is WAY out of my way to do so just all on past experience and word of mouth reputation. My opinion of them changed yesterday when Doug Jr. told me that in order to get my parts back (muffler and catalytic converter) that I would have to pay a core deposit on the converter. So I left it alone since I was limited on funds, when I got home I researched it out, called other muffler shops and auto parts stores NONE of which charge a CORE DEPOSIT! My boyfriend called Dougs back and argued with little Dougie and he OUT RIGHT LIED to him and stated that he NEVER told me there was a core deposit and just that he could get money back for it. Yeah WHATEVER little Dougie, you are an absolute scammer and a LIAR! If you do not want to be out right lied to and scammed...I implore you to take your car somewhere else. I may have still overpaid by $30 to $50 because all the other shops I called gave me roughly the same estimate that I paid, but ALL said if they kept the converter they would have knocked off $30-$50 on the total. I would rather pay $100 more to an HONEST BUSINESS and one that does not see a chick walk in and instantly think to up the price or fictionalize some mumbo jumbo because well, I was a girl and did not know any better
