We've eaten at Bistro Provence twice. First time, put off by surly service, which unfortunately rendered the meal, which was probably fine, forgettable. Second time, things had changed. Service was excellent, light hearted and helpful, without being intrusive, the latter particularly unusual in L.A, where every waiter has a story to tell. There were four of us.(the same previously dissatisfied diners!!) We all started with gaspacho, I had twice pulled pork over garlic mashed/chacroute, my wife, bouillabaise, our friends had cog qu vin and beef bourguignonne respectively. Afterwards, we simply had to divide split a fabulous apple tarte tatin, then a second!! What with $6.00 corkage, good service, memorable food...we now think this is a local to be treasured.
