My wife and I were married 10/06/2007. We hired Geoffrey Cook to be our photographer based on pictures he took at my brother's wedding the Summer before (he was the photographer for this wedding as well). Geoffrey puts up a laptop slide show during the reception of pictures he has taken thus far in the day and my wife really enjoyed the style. As for cost, I thought he was high based on comparable photographers in the Menasha, Neenah, Appleton, Green Bay are of WI, but we really liked the albums he puts together and went with him.
The day of the wedding went well. My wife and I live out of state and had to travel a 1000 miles to get back to WI for out wedding (we're originally from WI and its easier for us to travel than everyone else). Everything went off without a hitch. Soon, we were back in VA and began trying to order our pictures.
Fastforward to Dec 2009 and we have had major setbacks. Our photographer has not responded to us in over 5 months after repeated attempts to contact him. We do not know what the status is on our pictures we have ordered or our albums, both of which we paid for in full in 2007. Further, my brother has informed me that he has not yet received his pictures and has been getting no response from Geoffrey Cook either (he was married SUMMER 2006!!!).
I am not sure what else to do other than take legal action at this point. I was hoping I could just get the pictures I had paid for or I would settle for a CD with the pictures on them and a refund of my purchase price, which the interest he earned on it should more than make up for this debacle.
I strongly warn everyone looking for a photographer for any type of service to steer clear of Geoffrey Cook Studios or don't be surprised if he RUINS your wedding after the fact like he has done to us.
