My husband and I are in escrow on a house in Las Vegas as an investment property. We saw the great reviews on Yelp, CitySearch, and another site for Bill Thomas, Master Inspector of F.Y.I. Inspections. Bill is one of the few master inspectors in Nevada and for good reason. We live out in California, so hiring the best inspector is top on our list. Bill called me shortly after he arrived at the house we planned to buy. He had immediately identified a significant mold problem (he is also a certified mold inspector). My in-laws (our eyes and ears in Vegas) arrived and Bill showed them the likely source of the problem (a leak in one of the bathrooms) and how pervasive the mold had spread into the walls of the garage, laundry room, and ductwork. It was at minimum a $25K remediation. Needless to say, we immediately notified our realtor and instructed him to rescind our offer. Bill saved us from a potential $430K+ costly mistake. Our search for a house continues in Vegas, but we know the first person we're going to call is Bill for any inspect, period! He is punctual, very meticulous, personable, and HONEST!! Seriously, you need to call Bill before you call any other inspector.
