Contractor ""repaired"" my door and notified me I should adjust my torsion springs they were not my issue as a Genie plastic part broke. This was repaired and my Torsion springs were adjusted. They were so tight but it appeared to work and whom am I to say what it should be like. They broke into two and left my wife again trapped in the garage in the morning on the way to work. Called contactor Nathan and he told me ""The marriage act doesnt apply to torsion springs just caused I touched it doesnt mean I warranty it"" He only states and I havent tried this yet but he says he only covers the work of the parts he replaces not the other labor work he does like break springs. So we have to buy a new set... I call it a racket. Get everything in writing no matter how nice they seem. BTW dont use service magic either they recommend contractors like this and do nothing to protect the consumer. Even though he stated his work was guaranteed for a year his word is worthless. I called the contractor and tried to work it out and he told me I was SOL. Remember have them sign off on ANYTHING they touch cause their is no more honor or pride in work done. Pros: On time gave me a good feeling it would be fixed Cons: Contractor does not warranty what he touches only the parts
