A few weeks ago, I hesitantly walked into Gilt Edge for my first haircut w/ Glenn. As a girl w/ thick curly (""ringlett-y"") hair, I have received more than my fair share of bad haircuts, so I am naturally timid before seeing any new hairstylist. However, after my first few minutes talking to Glenn, my fears were alleviated. He didn't just go straight for the scissors; he talked to me about my hair, what i wanted out of my cut, what were some good or bad cuts that i've had, etc. Then he actually explained to me what he was going to do and why. I've never before had a hairstylist discuss with me the texture of my hair or the shape of my face and how those things affect your cut/style. He completely understood my hesitance because he recognized and appreciated the difficulty of cutting my type of hair. All of Glenn's experience, however, along with his personality, gave me total confidence in him to give me a great cut - and rightfully so. I can honestly say, hands down, that it was the best haircut I have ever received in my life! Glenn gave my curls back a lot of much needed life and lift; he took out the weight and density that was giving me that ""blah"" look. I walked out of there feeling great and at ease with my new cut. I will definitely be returning for many more cuts, which I have no doubt will be as spectacular as the first.
Pros: Didn't feel pressured to buy any products.
Cons: Parking.
