I walked into One Enchanted Evening just to simply try on wedding dresses and get ideas for what I wanted. At this point my tastes were all over the board...sparkles? ruffles? lace? I couldn't put a finger on exactly what I envisioned. And I didn't call before and make an appointment. (you should always do that)
I was immediately greeted and when I told her that I didn't have an appointment, she first offered to squeeze me in before her next appointment . I knew that wasn't going to work, so she then offered another appointment later where we had more time. But she took every minute before her next appointment to just chat and let me look around the store.
When I came back, I was disappointed that the woman who greeted me earlier wasn't doing my consultation. The woman working with me now at first followed me around the floor suggesting dresses. But she immediately picked up that I wanted to look on my own (i didn't have to say anything) and let me know that we would start with 5 dresses.
I limited myself to 5 dresses and headed back to the fitting room where she had pulled 5 more dresses as her suggestions. Now, I know what I want to look like and didn't really communicate with her what I envisioned as I couldn't put it into words, so I was worried about the selections she had pulled for me to try. But let me tell you, in the end I choose one of the dresses she picked (!!!!!!!)
I was treated like a VIP. I have never been in the store before. I had so much fun with all the women I talked to. They were friendly and helpful and honest and downright sweet. I had a roomful of dresses (and if you have ever tried on dresses you know how much work it is!) and I asked to bustle every dress I had on and asked for a veil to see what it would look like. The wonderful woman who helped me, picked out a different veil for each dress and enthusiastically helped me into and out of every dress....some even twice because I couldn't decide.
I had a wonderful time at one enchanted evening.
