My friend made arrangements for her husband's funeral over the phone from Texas. She asked and paid for a good quality casket. Instead they put him in a casket that looked as though it was sitting in their showroom for years. At the cemetary right before burial the casket would not seal. When Ortiz was called they gave her major attitude over the phone and told her she was supposed to have checked it before purchasing it...... Helloooo.. she ordered over the phone from Texas! The owner from Ortiz finally came to the cemetary with major attitude towards the family. Not once did he apologize to the family for what was happening. While we waited in the cemetary the staff there told us that Ortiz funeral home has done this many times before to other families. They sale damaged caskets. Also they have even mixed up paper work and switched bodies....After standing in the cemetary for almost two hours, her husband was finally put in a nice new casket and put to rest! Do not... I repeat Do not give these people your money! If you want your loved one to be sent off the right way go somewhere else.
