Hubris and greed. Hewlett wanted full MSRP on a Passat TDI SE and additionally attempted to ""steal"" my trade-in on an exceptionally clean and meticulously maintained truck that was valued at $15K by KBB, NADA, Black book, and Edmund's by offering a trade-in value of $11K. Hewlett wasted my time and seemed surprised that I walked away from paying full MSRP and having approximately $4K stolen via low-ball trade-in offer. I will not return to this dealership and look forward to seeing if the Passat TDI is a good value or not (which is not a good bet based upon maintenance costs of prior models). If you want a VW and want a fair trade-in on your current vehicle - head elsewhere.
