Review content:
We don't know what the hell that one reviewer was talking about! Valet as a Con? Get a grip!! First of all, you should've been validated at the restaurant so you wouldn't have to pay. Second, we'd pay $20 valet to eat there again. The service was impeccable. They were always there to refill the water. They were very knowledgable about all the items we were interested in. And there was no air of snottiness that normally accompanies such fine dining establishments. The food was light, but flavorful as the seasonal summer fare should be. The standouts were the pork belly, the beef fillet and short rib, the scallops, and the risotto. One criticism we have is the decor. Some walls were wallpapered while others were painted in an unfinished fashion. The floors were grainy in appearance which seems to conflict with the Victorian air that the shuttered windows with lamp shades suggests. As the day turned into evening, these became minor quibbles, but the techno music never changed and was quite irksome - it unsettles the ambiance of the restaurant. The women's restroom was ""a small cafe onto itself!"" Our muscato wine selection was poured fine and we enjoyed it with our lovely desserts, the sticky chocolate pudding, the panna cotta and the pineapple souffle. A return is without question. Thanks, Gordon!
